Fixing up the farm for her mama to come on over? No big thing! Applejack hustled and bustled all afternoon to get things ready, but she could never quite be fully ready for this. The sight would never get old, would it?
"Morning, Ma," she greeted, trying in vain to keep it casual.
"I know that feeling. At the very least though, remember to take a nap every so often." said Pear, reaching up and brushing a bit of leaf from Applejack's mane.
"You need to remember that not everything has to be on your shoulders."
"Heh. My friends try and tell me that time and time again," she said with a small laugh. "But I'll try to listen. No need to worry so much when it's nice and safe, right? At least I hope so. I don't want to lose anypony again."
"Aww shucks, Ma. It's all 'cause I've got such great friends." Applejack
glowed with happiness whenever she mentioned them.
But her ma...she was important too. Even more. "Big Mac and Apple Bloom
would love to see ya. I sure hope they come along...and maybe you could
show me a few pear tricks? We were shocked silly when we found out."

The reply was:
"This is true. I worry, but what mother doesn't? I'm just glad my girl is
such a hero." She smiled, leaning over to give Applejack a brief hug.

"That's good. And yeah, I like all this time with you too Applejack. It's nice being with you, here, with my girl," said Pear, nudging her. "You've grown up so well."
"Aw shucks, Ma..." Applejack blushed. "I always told Apple Bloom about you. About how much you loved her, how proud...y'know, she got the sweetest cutie mark I've ever seen," she confessed.
"Her and her two best friends have matching marks, 'cause they were worried that they fell behind all the other fillies. So they formed this Cutie Mark Crusader club to figure out what their talents were, and when they helped a classmate of theirs, they got 'em all together."
"Matching marks? This I have to see," said Pear with a smile. "They must be very special to have matching marks, I've never quite heard of that before. They must be the closest of friends."
"They are. Not even my friends and I have that...though I guess we didn't know each other when we got 'em. We just...happened to get 'em at the same time, when we saw Rainbow's first sonic rainboom."
She conjured what she could from memory, sketching their different shields in the dirt with a hoof. "They're good fillies. You'd really like them."
Applejack's farm was a total mess and nowhere near up to her usual impeccable standards. She'd just have to deal with that for now, and maybe ask Neph for tips when she got here.
Nephenee would find her old friend in the middle of raising her new greenhouse. She carefully tied her work down before trotting over to her with a wide grin. "Well now, look who it is!"
In the year she'd been in Eorzea, there were several people Nephenee missed a bunch. One of those that stood out was Applejack, and the Sentinel almost flat out sprinted the whole way to her pony-sis' farm in her eagerness.
Of course, she also forgot that she was in Beorc form right now and in Dragoon armor, but that didn't stop her from jumping the fence with a "Sis!" and, after dropping to her knees to be on eye level, she hugged AJ tight anyway. "Gosh, it's good to see ya! How are ya?"
For Mama (Pear Butter)
"Morning, Ma," she greeted, trying in vain to keep it casual.

"Don't want to miss a minute of the harvest---you know how that is, right?"
Of course she did, but it had been far too long.

"It's kinda nice, actually. Not that I want to be gone too long, but there are worse places we could be, right?"
